Welcome to Remembering Oak Ridge

This site presents a history of Oak Ridge - the forensic mental health division of the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care in Penetanguishene, Ontario. Artefacts, photographs, and archival documents have been used to discuss the establishment of the division, the building in which it was housed, the varied treatment practices that were implemented, and the personal experiences of the staff, patients, and community members who were connected to the Oak Ridge division throughout its 81 year history.
